Zamek Ryn Castle Hotel occupies a restored 14th-century Teutonic Order castle on a promontory above Lake Ryński in the town of Ryn, Warmia-Masuria Province, in the heart of the Masurian Lakeland. The castle is positioned at the isthmus between Lake Ryński and Lake Ołów, giving three sides of the structure direct water frontage. Ryn is approximately 75 kilometres east of Olsztyn and 30 kilometres south of Giżycko, the main hub for lake cruises and water sports in the Masurian region. The Great Masurian Lakes cycling and kayaking route passes within close reach of the property.
The castle was founded by the Teutonic Knights in the 1370s on a strategic ridge site controlling access between the two lakes, and the fortification was expanded and modified under successive Polish and Prussian rulers through the 17th century. The restoration, completed in the early 2000s, prioritised historical authenticity: the Gothic brick towers, vaulted cellars, defensive wall walks, and the courtyard loggia were all consolidated and where possible returned to their medieval appearance. The interior design layers period furniture, armour displays, and heraldic tapestries onto stone floors and brick vaults to create an atmosphere of high-end historical immersion.
