Luxus Hunza

Luxus Hunza occupies a prime position in Karimabad, the cultural and commercial centre of Hunza Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, at an altitude of approximately 2,400 metres. The hotel faces north across the valley toward the Rakaposhi massif (7,788m), with Diran Peak (7,266m) and Ultar Sar (7,388m) also visible from most room balconies and the main terrace. Karimabad itself sits above the Hunza River gorge and contains Baltit Fort — a heritage structure of the former ruling family — and Altit Fort, both walkable within 20 to 30 minutes from the hotel through Karimabad's lanes.

The building combines contemporary mountain resort architecture with Hunzakut design references: dry-stone wall cladding, wooden lattice screens, and floor-to-ceiling windows engineered to frame the peak panorama. Rooms range from superior doubles to suites; all include private balconies, central heating for the cold mountain nights, and en-suite bathrooms with continuous hot water. Larger suites add sitting areas and expanded valley-facing windows. The overall standard represents the highest tier of accommodation available in the Hunza Valley.

The main restaurant serves Pakistani cuisine alongside continental options and draws on local ingredients where possible, including Hunza apricots, walnuts, and dried mulberries in season. Breakfast is a buffet affair. A terrace dining area extends the meal outdoors in fair weather with unobstructed mountain views. Room service operates during standard hours.

No formal spa facility exists, but the property's terrace and balcony design is oriented around prolonged mountain contemplation. Trekking arrangements — guides, porters, and gear connections — can be organised through the front desk for routes including Rakaposhi Base Camp, Ultar Meadows, and Passu Glacier. Service is polished by regional standards and staff speak English fluently.
