Galerías Metepec

Galerías Metepec is a large open-air shopping mall on Boulevard Toluca-Metepec Norte in the Barrio Coaxustenco area of Metepec, Mexico State, offering a modern retail contrast to the region's artisan markets. The mall holds more than 130 national and international retail chains as anchor and mid-size stores, spanning clothing, electronics, and department-store brands, plus a multiplex cinema and a broad selection of restaurants and cafes. Unlike the craft markets nearby, goods here are branded, factory-produced merchandise at fixed, posted prices; bargaining is not part of mall retail culture, and cards are widely accepted alongside cash at essentially every store. Standard Mexican retail sales tax applies, with no special tourist tax-refund process at this type of domestic mall.
