The architecture is the reason the hotel is noticed at all in a quarter dominated by colonial facades: curved balconies, rounded corners, and a green-and-white painted courtyard with a spiral of railings and planters that has become a small landmark in its own right. The property has been operated by the same family for decades and retains the manner of a mid-century Mexican town hotel, with a staffed reception open around the clock, luggage storage for travellers between buses, and a plain, well-worn interior. Rooms fall into Single, Standard Double, Twin, and Triple categories; they are simple, tiled, and air conditioned, with private bathrooms and little decoration, and the quieter ones face the interior courtyard rather than Calle 12. There is no pool, restaurant, or bar, and the wifi is basic, but the trade-off is price: nightly rates generally sit between MXN 700 and MXN 1,100, which makes this one of the cheapest places to sleep inside the walls of Campeche's capital while still having a private room and air conditioning. The location supports that value. The Plaza de la Independencia and the cathedral are two blocks away, Calle 59's restaurants are one block north, the malecon and the Gulf sunset are a five-minute walk west, and the market and colectivo stops for Champoton and Edzna lie a short distance outside the wall line to the east. The ADO bus terminal is a ten-minute taxi ride. The hotel suits budget-conscious independent travellers, road-trippers making a one-night stop between Merida and Palenque, and anyone who would rather spend on Campechano seafood than on a courtyard plunge pool.
