Tottori Hanakairo Flower Park

Tottori Hanakairo Flower Park in Nanbu-cho is one of Japan's largest flower parks, with themed garden zones, a large glass greenhouse dome, and seasonal illumination events set against a backdrop that, on clear days, includes a distant view of Mount Daisen. Daytime frames use the massed color of a single flower bed as a foreground field leading toward the greenhouse dome or Mount Daisen in the background, while winter illumination shots favor dusk and blue-hour timing, when residual sky color balances against the park's colored lights before full darkness flattens the scene into pure light points. Late morning through early afternoon gives the fullest, most saturated bloom color, since many flowers close or droop slightly by late afternoon; spring (April-May) brings tulip and flowering shrub displays, while summer brings large lily and lotus beds. The winter illumination event runs on a seasonal schedule and draws the largest evening crowds of the year, with paths becoming congested near the main light installations after dusk. The park charges a standard adult admission fee for entry, and tripods are permitted throughout the grounds, though during the illumination event large tripods should be positioned to the side of main walkways to avoid blocking pedestrian flow; drones are not permitted anywhere on the grounds under the park's own visitor rules.
