A uniquely Florentine experience on Florence's most elegant shopping street.

Procacci is one of Florence's most celebrated gastronomic institutions, a tiny specialty food shop and bar at Via de' Tornabuoni 64R that has been serving its famous truffled panini since 1885. Now owned by the Marchesi Antinori, one of Tuscany's most important wine families, Procacci combines its historical identity with the Antinori wine portfolio, offering a uniquely Florentine experience: standing at the marble counter with a glass of Antinori Chianti Classico or Vernaccia di San Gimignano and a plate of small round sandwiches filled with butter and black truffle paste. The panini — soft, delicate, and served at room temperature — are made fresh throughout the day and sold by the piece or in small quantities to take away. The shop interior is lined with antique bottles, wine racks, and historic labels. Procacci is on Via de' Tornabuoni, Florence's principal luxury shopping street, placing it between the Palazzo Strozzi and the Arno River in the western historic centre. Phone: +39 055 211656. Frequently asked questions

What exactly are Procacci's panini?

Small round soft bread rolls spread with fresh truffle butter (burro al tartufo) — the filling is simple and relies entirely on the quality of the black truffle paste. They are served at room temperature and eaten in two or three bites.

Is Procacci primarily a wine bar or a food shop?

Both. The retail side sells Antinori wines, packaged truffle products, and gourmet Florentine specialties. The bar side serves the panini and wines by the glass at the marble counter and at a few tables.

What is the price range?

Individual panini cost approximately EUR 3-5 (~$3-5) each. A glass of Antinori wine costs EUR 7-12 (~$8-13). A light standing lunch of two panini and a glass of wine typically costs EUR 15-20 (~$16-22).
