Straf Hotel occupies a nineteenth-century building on Via San Raffaele, immediately behind the Rinascente department store and less than a two-minute walk from the Duomo, making it one of the most centrally positioned hotels in Milan. Duomo metro station on the M1 and M3 lines is five minutes away. A member of the Design Hotels collection, the property is built around raw, industrial materials handled with deliberate restraint: unfinished brass, corroded metal panels, backlit onyx, and rough-cut stone appear throughout the 64 rooms and public spaces, a design approach that stood out sharply when the hotel opened in the early 2000s and remains distinctive today.
