Sina The Gray

Sina The Gray is a design hotel on Via San Raffaele, one of the narrow streets running between the Duomo piazza and La Scala opera house — a location so central that the Duomo's north facade is a three-minute walk and La Scala is four minutes. Duomo metro station on the M1 and M3 lines is a five-minute walk. The hotel occupies a converted historic building redesigned by Milanese designer Guido Ciompi, who applied a coherent palette of charcoal, graphite, and warm stone across the 21 rooms and suites. Each room is individually configured; the Deluxe Suites offer split-level layouts with separate living areas and are meaningfully more spacious than the entry-level Classic Rooms. Aria, the signature restaurant, offers contemporary Italian cuisine with a focus on seasonal Lombard and Piedmontese ingredients and a curated natural wine programme. The rooftop bar and terrace is the hotel's most visible asset — elevated above the historic roofscape of central Milan, it provides direct views of the Duomo's flying buttresses and spires and has become a destination in its own right for Milan's design and architecture crowd. A fitness centre is available to guests. There is no pool or spa. With only 21 rooms, the staff-to-guest ratio supports genuinely personalised service: the concierge team covers theatre tickets, restaurant reservations, and private car transfers with the attentiveness of a much smaller property. The hotel is particularly sought after by architects and designers during the Salone del Mobile, given its proximity to the Triennale design museum and the Brera design district.
