Hotel Nuovo Nord

Hotel Nuovo Nord is a two-star hotel at Via Balbi 153/R in Genoa, Liguria, on the street of the Balbi, Durazzo and Reale palaces, a short walk from Piazza Principe railway station. Via Balbi is one of the Strade Nuove laid out in the early seventeenth century, lined with aristocratic palaces that now house university faculties, the Palazzo Reale museum and other cultural sites, and the hotel's address puts guests in the middle of this historic axis. Principe station and the cruise terminal are nearby, so arrival by train or ship is simple, and the old town, Via Garibaldi and the Porto Antico with the Aquarium are reachable on foot, mostly in a downhill direction toward the sea. The hotel is a basic, economical city property, and rates generally run from about EUR 55 to EUR 110 per night. Guests rate it 8.6/10 on Trip.com, suggesting good value for the category. Rooms are Single, Double and Triple, and listed amenities are Wi-Fi and air conditioning, helpful in summer. Sources do not confirm a restaurant, spa, pool or fitness area, and breakfast arrangements should be checked at booking; the neighbourhood has cafes, bakeries and trattorie serving Ligurian staples such as focaccia, farinata and pesto pasta. Service is practical and no-frills, suited to budget travellers, students, rail passengers and short-stay tourists who want a historic street rather than a purpose-built district. The telephone number is +39 010 2464470; no website is listed, so booking by phone or through a reservation platform is the practical route. Because Via Balbi carries traffic and the area around Principe is busy, travellers sensitive to noise may wish to request a quieter room, and late-night arrivals may prefer to take a taxi from the station. The Palazzo Reale and the university palaces are worth visiting in daytime.
