Tips for visiting attractions
Make the most of your sightseeing time.
Group sights by area: Porto Antico (Aquarium, Bigo, Galata), Via Garibaldi (three palaces), Centro Storico (cathedral, Ducale), and day-long extras (Staglieno, Nervi)
Book Aquarium tickets online for fixed dates, which are cheaper than open-date tickets
Wear flat, grippy shoes: the Centro Storico lanes (caruggi) are paved with slippery stone and steep
In the caruggi, keep bags zipped and in front, especially around Via del Campo and the Porto Antico at night
Many museums close on Monday, so plan outdoor sights (Boccadasse, Nervi, Spianata Castelletto) for Mondays
Cover shoulders and knees in churches such as San Lorenzo and the Jesuit church
