Access is by self-drive or cab via Gandipet-Chilkur Road, which takes about 45 minutes from the centre depending on traffic. TGSRTC buses run to Chilkur and Moinabad from Mehdipatnam, followed by a short auto ride to the gate. Parking is available near the entrance. An entry fee is collected at the gate, and there may be separate charges for cameras or vehicles, so cash should be carried. Opening hours are generally morning to late afternoon and should be confirmed at the gate before planning the day.

The nature trails add up to roughly 3-5 km and take two to three hours with stops for wildlife watching. The terrain is level to gently undulating, so the technical difficulty is easy, and there is no significant elevation gain. The surface is unpaved dirt and sand with scattered rocks. Shade comes from thorny dry-forest trees, but many stretches are open, so a hat is useful. Landmarks are the deer enclosures and open glades where deer and blackbuck graze, watchpoints for birdwatching, and stands of native trees along the tracks. Turn-around points can be chosen freely, as the trails are short and loop back towards the entrance.

Drinking water should be carried in, as facilities inside are basic, and there are no huts beyond simple shelters. Neutral-coloured clothing and quiet movement improve the chance of seeing animals, and feeding or approaching wildlife is not permitted. The best window is October to February, in the early morning when animals are most active and the air is cool.
