The Fort de Ratonneau on the island of Ratonneau is a small fortification at about 75 m, reached by an easy walk from the Frioul port, with views over the archipelago, the open sea and the Marseille coast. It is a quiet vantage compared with the mainland. The ferry from the Vieux-Port takes 25 to 30 minutes, and some sailings stop at the Chateau d'If first. Light is best in the morning and late afternoon.
