Tavastia Klubi

Tavastia Klubi is Helsinki's best-known live music club, at Urho Kekkosen katu 4-6 in the Kamppi district, Finland. It has operated since 1970 and has a capacity of about 700, making it a mid-sized venue where Finnish and international acts play at close range. The club stages more than 250 gigs a year, and its 2026 calendar mixes rock, metal, indie and Finnish pop, with club nights and smaller shows filling gaps in the schedule. The crowd depends on the act: metal and rock nights draw a loyal, mostly adult audience of locals and travelling fans, while pop acts bring a younger, wider mix. Many nights are 18+, so ID should be carried. There is no formal dress code, and casual clothing, band shirts and jackets are standard, particularly because the main floor is standing-only and gets warm. The atmosphere is focused on the stage rather than socialising, with a good sound system and a bar at the back and side of the hall. The drinks programme is simple: draught and bottled beer around €7-9, cider, long drinks, spirits and soft drinks, with no cocktail emphasis. Doors usually open between 19:00 and 20:00 on gig nights, with support acts first and headliners later in the evening, so the night often ends before the hours of a typical club. Entry is by ticket, usually around €15-45 depending on the act, and popular shows sell out in advance through the venue's ticketing partners, so reservations in the sense of tables are not part of the format. Bottle service is not offered. The location is a short walk from Kamppi metro station and the central railway station, which makes it easy to reach and to combine with a drink nearby before or after the show.
