A park-like city cemetery with a long neo-Renaissance arcade and domed entry, considered one of Europe's most beautiful cemeteries.
Designed by architect Hermann Bollé and opened in 1876, Mirogoj combines landscaped paths, ivy-covered arcades and domed chapels. Notable people buried here include Stjepan Radić, Miroslav Krleža and numerous other Croatian cultural figures. The arcades hold Art Nouveau and Secession monuments. Visitors may walk freely; respect the quiet and any funerals under way. A small cafe and flower shops are by the entrance.
