Zagreb's main open-air farmers' market, known as the 'belly of Zagreb', famed for red umbrellas, fresh produce, cheeses and flowers.
Dolac has run since 1930 on a terrace above Ban Jelačić Square. The upper level has fruit, vegetables, flowers and the red umbrellas that symbolise the market, while the covered lower hall sells meat, dairy and fish. Look for kajmak-style soft cheese, sir i vrhnje (cheese and cream), dried figs, honey and the local hand-made cheese from Prigorje. Prices are marked per kilo. Bring cash in euros; many small stalls do not take cards. Nearby cafes have stand-up coffee.
