It differs from conventional malls by its historic setting and its focus on craft and design boutiques, bookshops and cafes rather than large chains. Goods include Colombian handicrafts, jewellery, leather, clothing, home decor and books, sold through individual shops, so items are generally authentic, though the emphasis is on design and gift pieces rather than inexpensive souvenirs. Prices are fixed and bargaining is not practised, with typical purchases running from about COP 30,000 to COP 900,000. Cards are widely accepted, and cash is also welcome. Tourists may ask individual stores about value-added tax refunds and keep invoices for the airport process. The atmosphere is calm and browsable, with visitors moving between courtyards and small shops, and it is busiest at weekends, particularly on Sundays when the Usaquén flea market draws crowds to the nearby plaza. Eating options are a strength: cafes and restaurants occupy courtyards and rooms of the old house, suitable for a coffee break or a full meal. The layout follows the hacienda's rooms and courtyards, so the must-visit corners are the chapel area, the craft and design boutiques and the courtyard cafes. Hours are roughly 10:00 to 20:00 Monday to Saturday and 11:00 to 19:00 on Sunday and public holidays. The property sits a short walk from Usaquén's plaza, and combining the two makes a natural half-day outing. Uneven historic floors and steps mean some areas are less easy for those with limited mobility.
