Centro Comercial Andino

Centro Comercial Andino is the anchor of Bogotá's upmarket Zona Rosa, at Carrera 11 #82-71 in the Chapinero district, Colombia. It opened in 1993 and is linked by walkway to Centro Comercial El Retiro and Atlantis Plaza, forming a connected luxury shopping cluster. The mall carries the strongest concentration of international fashion houses in the country, alongside Colombian designers, jewellery stores, shoes, cosmetics, home goods and electronics. It differs from generic shopping by its brand mix: luxury and premium labels dominate, and the products are authentic, sold through official brand stores, so replica risk is minimal. Prices are fixed and bargaining is not practised, with typical purchases running from about COP 50,000 to COP 2,000,000 or more. Payment by credit and debit card is standard, cash is also accepted, and visitors should carry a passport for identification where required. Tourists may be able to claim refund of value-added tax on certain purchases at eligible shops when leaving the country, but the rules and eligibility should be checked at the store and at the airport. The atmosphere is polished and comparatively calm, busiest on Friday and Saturday evenings and on weekends. On-site eating is a strong point: the top floor is a dining and cinema destination with restaurants, cafes and a food area, and more restaurants surround the mall on nearby streets of the Zona Rosa. The layout is vertical, with multiple floors of shopping topped by the dining floor, so the must-visit areas are the international fashion levels, the Colombian designer stores and the rooftop restaurants. Trading hours run roughly 10:00 to 20:00 Monday to Thursday, 10:00 to 21:00 on Friday and Saturday, and 12:00 to 18:00 on Sunday and public holidays. Security is visible and the area is generally considered one of the safer shopping districts in Bogotá.
