Longjing Manor holds a Michelin star and is set within a private garden compound near the Longjing tea hills west of West Lake, an area long associated with Hangzhou's famous green tea cultivation. The restaurant follows a private-kitchen (siu chu) model where a chef team prepares a single seasonal Jiangnan tasting menu for each private room rather than running an open dining hall. Dishes are given poetic, literary names in keeping with Jiangnan culinary tradition and draw on ingredients from the surrounding tea hills and West Lake, changing with the seasons. Each private room is furnished in a traditional Chinese style with antique furniture, calligraphy, and garden views, creating a hushed, formal atmosphere suited to business entertaining or special-occasion dining rather than casual meals; smart dress is expected. The beverage list leans toward Chinese teas, particularly Longjing green tea grown nearby, alongside a modest selection of wine and Huangjiu. Because dining is entirely by private room and capacity is limited, reservations must be made well in advance, and walk-ins are not accommodated.
