Grandma's Home (外婆家) on Hubin Road is a flagship branch of the wildly popular Hangzhou-founded chain that launched in 1998 and helped popularize affordable home-style Hangzhou cuisine across China. There is no celebrity chef attached; the appeal is consistency and value rather than culinary innovation, with a kitchen team trained on standardized recipes. The signature dishes are Dongpo braised pork belly, a fatty, soy-and-wine-braised cut served in thick squares, Xihu fish in vinegar gravy, and tea-scented chicken, alongside stir-fried river shrimp that showcase the freshwater ingredients of the West Lake region.
