Liushan Lake Scenic Area

Liushan Lake Scenic Area lies in Shiji Township, Sihong County, in the south of Suqian, Jiangsu, China. It is a lakeside nature area set among water, reeds, farmland and small wooded rises, and offers a quieter, more rural alternative to the busier attractions of the city. Visitors come for walks along the lake edge, boat rides where available, birdwatching and photography, as well as simple local meals in nearby villages. The scenery changes with the seasons: spring and early summer bring fresh green and flowering plants, summer is lush, and autumn brings golden reed tones. The best period is listed as May to October, when the weather suits boating and walking. A visit takes two to three hours. Because it is well away from the city, facilities are more basic than at urban parks, and visitors should bring water, sun protection and cash or mobile payment. Hours are daytime only and the ticket price should be confirmed at the ticket office or on Ctrip, since listings vary. Photo opportunities include the water surface at sunrise or late afternoon, reed margins and fishing boats. Crowds are light on weekdays, and holiday weekends draw local families. The scenic area is about 57 km from Suqian Station. The usual approach is to travel to Sihong first and then take a taxi towards Shiji Township, using Amap or Baidu Maps with the Chinese name. Since taxis are scarce in rural areas, visitors should arrange the return trip in advance. It combines well with a Sihong day that includes Hongze Lake Wetland or Shuanggou.
