Qingxiu Mountain and the Guangxi Museum of Nationalities sit 9-15km from central Nanning, reachable in 20-30 minutes by city bus or taxi/DiDi (¥15-25 to the mountain, ¥15-20 onward to the museum), making them an easy half-day trip entirely within Nanning's city limits. Qingxiu Mountain, counted among the traditional Eight Famous Sceneries of Nanning, offers forested walking paths, an orchid garden, and the hilltop Longxiang Pagoda, which gives views over the city and the Yong River. The Guangxi Museum of Nationalities, on Minzu Avenue, houses an extensive bronze drum collection including the Leiwen Grand Bronze Drum, the largest known bronze drum in the world, along with costume, textile, and craft displays representing the Zhuang, Yao, Miao, and Dong communities of Guangxi. A typical half-day starts with a morning visit to Qingxiu Mountain, allowing an hour or two to walk the forest paths, visit the orchid garden, and climb to Longxiang Pagoda for the skyline view, followed by a taxi to the museum for the early afternoon, where an hour is usually enough to see the bronze drum hall and the ethnic minority exhibits.
