Qingxiu Mountain (Qingxiushan), Nanning

Qingxiu Mountain forms Nanning's largest green space and highest natural point, a forested ridge on the southeastern edge of the Guangxi capital combining Buddhist temple grounds, landscaped botanical sections, and the nine-story Longxiang Pagoda at its summit. The pagoda's upper levels give a panoramic view over Nanning's skyline and the Yong River, making it the mountain's main built landmark, while the Ming Xiu Garden section lower down the slope is known for its densely planted flower beds and shaded walking paths. Free entry to the park itself makes the mountain a popular daily destination for Nanning residents, who use its network of paths for morning and evening exercise, particularly on the gentler lower trails; weekday mornings are noticeably quieter than weekends, when local families and exercise groups fill the main paths. The mountain sits near the grounds used for the opening ceremony of the annual Nanning International Folk Song Art Festival, and its temple areas hold small-scale religious observances year-round. A relaxed circuit covering the gardens and the climb to Longxiang Pagoda takes two to three hours.
