Where Raketa focuses on rakia and nostalgia, Sputnik leans toward mixed drinks and a livelier, music-driven mood, with funk as the signature soundtrack. The crowd is mostly local twenty- and thirty-somethings, students from the nearby university district and a scattering of visitors, and the atmosphere is relaxed and sociable. There is no dress code and no door selection; casual clothes are standard. The drinks programme centres on cocktails, including classics and house variations, alongside Bulgarian beers, wine and spirits. Prices sit in the moderate range for Sofia Center, and the venue is categorised as mid-priced. Music is the main differentiator: funk, soul and related grooves dominate, played loud enough to set the tone but generally not so loud that groups cannot talk. The bar opens daily from 11:00 and runs until 02:00, so it functions as a daytime drinks stop, an early-evening meeting point and a late-night option. Because Sputnik shares its address with Raketa, which closes at midnight, many visitors start with rakia next door and finish the night at Sputnik. The location on Yanko Sakazov Boulevard is walkable from Doctor's Garden, the Sofia University area and the central pedestrian streets, and tram and bus stops are close by, which helps for the trip home after the bars close.
