Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi is Vietnam's largest Lotte complex, opened in 2023 at 272 Vo Chi Cong in Xuan La Ward, Tay Ho District, on the western side of West Lake in Hanoi. It combines a six-floor shopping mall with a Lotte Mart hypermarket, an aquarium, a cinema and an indoor children's zone. Prices are fixed, from about 100,000 VND for small items to millions of dong for electronics and fashion, and bargaining is not customary. An aquarium ticket costs from about 300,000 VND. Payment is by cash or card, and card acceptance is widespread. Visitors seeking a VAT refund should ask the store for a tax-refund invoice at purchase, since eligibility depends on the retailer and the traveller's status. The atmosphere is spacious and air-conditioned, with weekend and holiday crowds of local families, and it is an obvious refuge in the wet and hot seasons for anyone staying around West Lake. Food options are extensive, with a large food hall, restaurants covering Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese and international cuisines, and cafes across several floors. The must-visit corners are the hypermarket for gifts and groceries, the food hall for a meal and the aquarium for families with children. The mall is in the western part of Tay Ho, so most visitors arrive by ride-hailing car or taxi from the Old Quarter and lakeside neighbourhoods.
