Furbrew Craft Beer

Furbrew Craft Beer is a Hanoi brewery and taproom at 8B/52 To Ngoc Van in Quang An Ward, Tay Ho District, near West Lake in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was founded by Danish brewer Thomas Vestergaard, and the taproom pours a rotating line-up drawn from hundreds of recipes brewed since 2016. Many of the beers are built on Vietnamese ingredients such as lotus, passion fruit, pandan, coffee and chilli, which gives the list an experimental character that sets it apart from standard lagers. Tasting flights let drinkers work across the board without committing to a full glass, and the on-site brewery means the beer is very fresh. The crowd is a mix of West Lake residents, expatriates and beer travellers, mostly adults from their mid-twenties to their forties, and the atmosphere is casual, friendly and conversation-led. There is no dress code, and casual clothing is the norm. Music is background only. Beer is priced at about 70,000-140,000 VND a glass, roughly USD 2.69-5.38, and a tasting flight starts around 200,000 VND, or USD 7.69, so a full exploration of the list costs little. The taproom opens daily from about 15:00 to 23:00, so it suits an afternoon or early-evening visit rather than a late night. There is no cover charge and no bottle-service programme. Reservations are not usually needed, though larger groups may want to check ahead. Because Tay Ho is a residential district away from the Old Quarter, most visitors arrive by taxi or ride-hailing, and the taproom sits on the same lane as Hanoi Rock City, which allows an easy pairing of beer and live music. Beer choices change frequently, so visitors should ask staff which recipes are new.
