Alibek Guesthouse Khiva

Alibek Guesthouse occupies a traditional residential building inside the walls of Itchan Kala, the UNESCO-protected inner city of Khiva. The building is a vernacular Khorezm courtyard house maintained by a local family rather than converted into a commercial property. The rooftop terrace is the property's most distinctive feature, offering open views across the Itchan Kala roofscape, with tiled cupolas, earthen walls, and the silhouettes of minarets visible in every direction. It is an excellent spot for sunset and for early-morning photography before other visitors arrive.

Breakfast is included and features classic Uzbek morning fare: non flatbread, eggs, fresh-cut vegetables, jam, and tea. Dinners can sometimes be arranged with advance notice, as the family cooks to order.

Hosts speak basic English and are accustomed to assisting travellers with practical questions — shared taxi logistics to Urgench, which city gates to use at different times, and where to find good local restaurants.
