Hotel Modern

Hotel Modern is a contemporary boutique hotel at 936 St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, Louisiana, close to Lee Circle at the edge of the Central Business District and the Lower Garden District. The address sits directly on the St. Charles streetcar line, one of the city's most scenic rides, which runs through the Garden District and Uptown toward Audubon Park. The National WWII Museum, the Warehouse District galleries and the Contemporary Arts Center are a short walk away, and the French Quarter can be reached by a streetcar and a short walk or a brief ride. Magazine Street's shops and restaurants are also nearby. The hotel's name reflects its modern design: clean lines, a stylish interior and a design-forward look contrast with the more traditional hotels elsewhere in the city, in a building that fits into the St. Charles Avenue streetscape. Rooms come in Queen, King and Suite types, and typical nightly rates fall between about US$120 and US$260 depending on season and demand. Amenities include a restaurant, a bar and free Wi-Fi. The on-site restaurant and bar serve breakfast and drinks and are used by guests as well as locals, and the area has many additional dining options within walking distance. The service character is relaxed and design-conscious, suited to couples, creative travelers and visitors who want a contemporary stay away from the Quarter's busiest crowds. The property does not have the extensive facilities of a large resort, such as a spa or large pool, but it offers a convenient, stylish base for visitors who plan to use the streetcar to explore. Guests interested in museums, mid-century design and the arts will find the neighborhood well suited, while those seeking Bourbon Street nightlife should plan a ride or streetcar journey. The location is also convenient for visitors attending events at nearby venues in the Warehouse District, and the quieter surroundings make evenings more peaceful.
