Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (York Place)

Premier Inn Edinburgh City Centre (York Place) is a chain hotel at 44 York Place, on the eastern edge of the New Town in Edinburgh, Scotland. The street is lined with Georgian terraces and runs between Picardy Place and St Andrew Square, a few minutes on foot from Edinburgh Bus Station, the St James Quarter and the tram stop at York Place. Waverley station is about 10 minutes away on foot, the Royal Mile roughly 15 minutes, and Edinburgh Castle about 20 minutes. Greenside, the Playhouse Theatre and the Omni Centre are nearby, which gives the hotel a good range of evening entertainment options, and the Scottish National Portrait Gallery on Queen Street is a short walk. The building is a modern chain hotel offering consistent comfort rather than historic character, although the surrounding streets are architecturally distinguished. Room types include Standard Doubles, Twin Rooms and Family Rooms, all with air conditioning, and typical nightly rates of about £65 to £190, with higher prices in August and at Hogmanay. A restaurant serves breakfast and evening meals, and free Wi-Fi is provided. The service style is reliable and no-frills, appealing to families, couples and budget-conscious business travellers who want a central address at a predictable price. The location is convenient for arrivals by bus or tram, and for visitors who want to be within walking distance of both the New Town shopping streets and the Old Town sights without paying for a Royal Mile address. Evening activity around Picardy Place and Broughton Street is lively, so guests who want quiet may prefer a higher floor. It is a good-value base for short city breaks and festival stays.
