ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile

ibis Edinburgh Centre South Bridge - Royal Mile is a straightforward budget chain hotel at 77 South Bridge, in the Old Town of Edinburgh, Scotland. South Bridge is a busy through route that crosses the Cowgate on a bridge above the old town, and the hotel sits close to the University of Edinburgh's Old College, the National Museum of Scotland and the Royal Mile, all within a few minutes on foot. St Giles' Cathedral and the High Street are about five minutes away, Edinburgh Castle roughly 15 minutes, and Waverley station about 10 minutes. The location is among the most central available at a budget price, which makes it a practical base for short city breaks and festival visits. The building is a modern chain property without historic features, and the rooms are compact, simple and functional, in the standard ibis style. Room types include Standard Doubles, Twin Rooms and Family Rooms, with typical nightly rates of about £60 to £170 depending on season, rising sharply during August. A restaurant serves breakfast and simple meals, a 24-hour reception handles late arrivals and early departures, and free Wi-Fi is provided. The service style is no-frills and efficient, with limited extras, so guests who want a spa, pool or room service should look elsewhere. The hotel suits students visiting the university, solo travellers, couples on a budget and families who need a central place to sleep rather than a destination in itself. Because South Bridge is a main road with traffic and nightlife in the nearby Cowgate and Grassmarket areas, light sleepers may prefer an upper-floor room or request one facing away from the street.
