Trukhaniv Island (Trukhaniv Ostriv) is the green belt directly across the Dnipro from the historic centre. The Pedestrian Bridge (Park Bridge) from Poshtova Ploshcha leads to a network of sandy paths, wooded sections and a long riverfront strip that is as close to a natural shoreline as central Kyiv offers. Rowing, kayak and wakeboard facilities line parts of the island, and a number of rental and cafe points operate in summer. Under martial law the city's Defence Council advises against visiting municipal beaches and recreation zones, and access to some island areas may be restricted; walkers should treat the island as a quiet nature walk, check current announcements and avoid swimming. Visitors should stay on established paths and obey any posted warnings.
