Lysa Hora (Bald Mountain) is a wooded hill in the Holosiiv district, part of the Kyiv Fortress system and a protected nature landscape. The fort on its summit was built in 1872-1874 on a design linked to Totleben and remains largely preserved as brick and earth ramparts, now overgrown with forest.

A wooded nature-reserve hill topped by the ruins of a 19th-century earthwork fort of the Kyiv Fortress, with steep forest paths and views toward the Dnipro valley.

The hill is reached on foot from Vydubychi metro station (a Green-line stop) via residential streets and forest tracks, and it is one of the few places in the city where a half-day trek on earth paths feels genuinely wild. Paths are steep, unsigned and may be muddy; there are no facilities. The area is a nature reserve, so visitors should stay on existing trails, and remnants of masonry and ditches can be hazardous. Because the hill is outside normal tourist infrastructure, access conditions in wartime are not officially published; walkers should check the Kyiv Fortress museum social channels and local hiking groups before going and avoid any area with restricted-access signs or fencing.
