Güvence Dağ Evi

Güvence Dağ Evi (Mountain House) is a small family-run guesthouse on Güvence Yaylası, a high-altitude summer plateau in the Munzur mountain foothills approximately 25 km east of Erzincan city. The yayla sits at roughly 1,800 to 2,000 metres above sea level and is reached via unpaved mountain road; in winter and early spring, four-wheel drive is required and access may be impossible after snowfall. During the summer grazing season — roughly June through September — the plateau hosts nomadic herder families and several permanent households, one of which operates this guesthouse.

The house is a traditional stone-and-timber highland dwelling. Rooms are compact and share or semi-share bathroom facilities; furnishings run to basic bedding, wooden furniture, and a wood stove for evening chill. The interior is spare by design, and the appeal lies entirely in context: wide open plateau grassland, panoramic views of the surrounding Munzur peaks, near-total quiet broken only by livestock bells and wind.

Meals are the property's strongest feature. The half-board arrangement covers breakfast and dinner prepared from ingredients sourced directly from the plateau: fresh yayık butter, clotted cream, highland herbs, home-baked bread, and lamb in season. Lunch is not provided; guests typically spend the middle of the day walking across the plateau or ascending toward higher ridges. There is no spa, pool, or fitness centre, and mobile signal is minimal to absent throughout the yayla; guests should download offline maps before leaving Erzincan.

Advance booking through Erzincan otogar contacts or local tourism networks is strongly advisable; walk-in arrangements are possible in July and August but cannot be guaranteed. The guesthouse suits solo walkers, trail-runners, and travellers seeking authentic yayla immersion rather than comfort-oriented tourism.
