Konuralp Pansiyon

Konuralp Pansiyon is a small family-run guesthouse in Konuralp, a historic village 6 kilometres east of Düzce city centre. Konuralp sits on the site of the ancient Bithynian city of Prusias ad Hypium, and it is one of the most archaeologically significant settlements in northwest Turkey. A Roman theatre, fragments of an aqueduct, and several floor mosaics survive in and around the modern village, and the Konuralp Museum—housed in a former school building at the edge of the site—displays finds ranging from Roman-era ceramics and coins to Byzantine sculptures. The setting is notably different from central Düzce: the village is quieter, more rural in feel, and surrounded by farmland and the wooded ridges of the Western Black Sea foothills.

The pansiyon occupies a traditional stone-and-timber structure with a shaded garden, typical of rural northwest Anatolia. Double rooms and a larger family room are simply but comfortably furnished with wooden furniture and locally woven textiles; bathrooms are en-suite or shared depending on the room booked. Breakfast is included in the rate and draws on home-produced and local ingredients where available—eggs from the family's own hens, village bread baked in a wood-fired oven, fruit preserves made from orchard produce, and regional cheeses sourced from nearby farms. The garden is a particular attraction in the warmer months, providing shade for a relaxed breakfast or evening tea with views toward the ruins.

The guesthouse suits archaeology enthusiasts visiting the Konuralp ruins, cyclists touring the river valley and surrounding foothills, families looking for a rural alternative to city hotels, and travellers interested in the quieter rhythms of Turkish village life. The owners are the primary source of local knowledge about the ruins, walking routes, and seasonal events in the village. Free parking is available in the garden. Düzce city centre and the D-100 motorway are 15 minutes away by car.
