Efteni Göl Bungalow Resort

Efteni Göl Bungalow Resort occupies the eastern shore of Efteni Lake, a natural freshwater lake approximately 5 kilometres south-west of Düzce city centre. The lake is one of the Düzce region's principal natural features—a shallow, reed-fringed body of water set against wooded slopes, supporting grey herons, great cormorants, and a range of migratory waterfowl during spring and autumn passage. The surrounding landscape is a mix of riparian woodland, willow stands, and open farmland, giving the site a noticeably tranquil character that contrasts with the rebuilt post-earthquake city just a short drive away.

The resort consists of individual timber bungalows arranged at intervals along the lakeshore. Two types are available: lakeside bungalows situated closest to the water with unobstructed views across the lake and direct access to the fishing bank; and forest bungalows set back into the treeline, offering more privacy, more shade in the summer heat, and closer proximity to birding spots at the wood's edge. Each bungalow includes a private terrace, basic kitchen facilities (hob, refrigerator, and utensils), WiFi, heating for the cooler months, and comfortable twin or double bedding. Breakfast is included in the rate and served communally in the main lodge building—a central hub for the resort—using local dairy, seasonal produce, and eggs sourced from a nearby farm. Fishing from the lake bank is permitted and equipment is available to borrow from the main lodge. Rowing boats are occasionally available for hire.

Efteni Göl Bungalow Resort suits nature enthusiasts, birdwatching travellers, families with children who enjoy outdoor activity, and couples seeking a peaceful retreat from Düzce or Istanbul. There is no spa, pool, or fitness facility on site. Walking trails extend along the lake perimeter and into the adjoining forest. Weekend and public-holiday bookings from April through October fill quickly; advance reservation is strongly advised during these periods.
