An urban ride around the walls and through the Hevsel Gardens to the Ten-Eyed Bridge, about 8-10 km one way. Bring a bike; no rental verified.
A cycling route from Dağ Kapı square, at the north gate of the walls, around the outside of Sur and down through the Hevsel Gardens to the Ten-Eyed Bridge is one of the few urban rides in Diyarbakır documented by the local municipalities. Yenişehir Municipality has run a bike tour on this line together with a nature walk in the gardens during European Mobility Week. The total is roughly 8-10 km one way depending on the roads chosen, mostly on city streets and park paths with a descent toward the Tigris.
No permanent cycle path through the Hevsel Gardens or rental scheme was verified, so cyclists should expect to share roads with traffic and ride on tracks that are informal. Most of the route is flat or gently downhill, which makes the return ride the tougher half. Because parts of the garden area are closed or fenced for works, riders should follow signs and keep to public tracks. The best hours are early morning, before traffic and heat build up.
