Panorama Terrace Amasra

Panorama Terrace Amasra is a seasonal café positioned on the castle hill (Kalekale Mahallesi) of Amasra, the most visited coastal town in Bartın province, where Byzantine-era and Genoese fortifications occupy a dramatic promontory above the Black Sea. The café's primary appeal is its elevation and the sweeping views that accompany it: the Black Sea stretches to the horizon in three directions, the two historic harbours (Büyük Liman and Küçük Liman) are visible below, and the castle walls themselves create an architectural backdrop of considerable character.

The menu is intentionally simple: çay and Türk kahvesi (Turkish coffee) are the core beverages, with sandviç (toasted sandwiches) and waffle representing the light-food range. This is a view café rather than a dining destination, and visitors who arrive expecting a full kitchen will be disappointed. The trade is in atmosphere: the ability to sit with a glass of tea at a terrace table and look out over one of the more visually arresting settings in the Western Black Sea region of Turkey.

The Kalekale Mahallesi approach from the harbours below involves steep, narrow cobbled streets typical of a medieval castle town. The climb takes approximately 10–15 minutes from the waterfront and rewards visitors with height, quiet, and separation from the commercial restaurant strip of Büyük Liman. Opening hours are nominally 09:00–22:00, though the café operates seasonally and may close outside the main tourist window of April through September. Prices are minimal: a glass of çay costs ₺40–60 and a waffle or sandwich under ₺200. No reservation is needed or possible.
