Kaledibiyeri Restaurant takes its name from its position directly beneath the Byzantine-era castle walls that dominate the promontory of Amasra, a medieval fortress town on the Black Sea coast of Bartın province. The restaurant commands some of the most dramatic lunch and dinner settings in the region: diners look out across the Black Sea to the open water on one side and up at the stone fortifications above on the other. The kitchen specialises in Black Sea fish, with the daily menu shaped by what local boats land that morning.

Hamsi ekmek — grilled or fried anchovies packed into fresh bread — is the defining fast-serve dish and a favourite of the coastal Black Sea tradition. Çipura (sea bream) arrives whole and grilled, ideal for two to share. The karides güveç (prawn casserole in tomato and pepper sauce) baked in a clay pot is a recommended cold-weather option. Mısır ekmeği, the dense yellow cornbread of the Black Sea region, accompanies most mains and is baked in-house.

The atmosphere falls somewhere between a working fisherman's eatery and a modest tourist restaurant. Tables on the open terrace fill fastest, particularly at sunset when the castle walls catch the amber light. Interior seating is simple and unfussy. The beverage offering covers beer, wine, and rakı; the wine list focuses on straightforward Turkish producers. Reservations are recommended for weekend visits from May to September; weekday lunches are generally available without advance booking. Pricing is moderate for Amasra, sitting between the budget lokanta options and the premium harbour-front restaurants of Büyük Liman.
