Lara Beach

Lara Beach forms the centrepiece of Antalya's luxury resort coast, stretching along a broad fine-pebble and coarse-sand shoreline east of the city in the Lara and Kundu districts. The beach runs for several kilometres in a near-straight line facing south into the Mediterranean, with warm, calm turquoise waters that deepen gradually and are well-suited for swimming at any age. Water clarity is typically excellent in the mornings before afternoon wind picks up.

The beach is defined by its towering five-star all-inclusive resorts—Titanic, Rixos, and Delphin among others—which control much of the beachfront with their private sections. Most of these hotels operate beach clubs, and several extend access to non-guests for a day fee. A narrow public access section remains at the northern end of the Lara strip, accessible without hotel affiliation.

Water sports at Lara are extensive: windsurfing, water skiing, parasailing, jet skiing, and paddleboarding are all offered from beach centres. Many resort hotels also run beach volleyball, beach tennis, and evening entertainment on the sand. Lifeguard stations are present at regular intervals. The surroundings are almost entirely resort infrastructure with limited independent dining outside the hotels; the nearest independent restaurants and shops are in the Lara residential district, a short taxi ride inland.

The beach itself is maintained to a high standard throughout the main season, with daily raking and cleaning conducted by resort staff. Access from Antalya city centre is by taxi (20–25 minutes, around 200–300 TL) or by Antalya municipal bus (route 600 from the city centre to Lara district). The beach is 12 kilometres east of the city. The area experiences light onshore breezes in the afternoons, making conditions pleasant for sunbathing while keeping temperatures tolerable even in peak July and August heat.
