Cape Weligama occupies a dramatic clifftop peninsula at Weligama on Sri Lanka's southern coast, approximately 15 kilometres east of Matara and 30 kilometres east of Galle. The property sits 35 metres above sea level, with the cliff face dropping to the Indian Ocean on three sides and unobstructed ocean views from virtually every point on the estate — a geographical configuration that places it among the most dramatically sited resort properties in South Asia.

The resort was designed by an internationally recognised studio as a contemporary tropical estate, with 39 suites and pool villas organised across multiple cliff-edge terraces. Architecture draws on Sri Lankan vernacular elements — pitched terracotta rooflines, local granite stonework, open-air pavilions — executed in a refined contemporary register. Villa interiors feature large-format stone floors, handloom textiles, and either private plunge pools or full private swimming pools on dedicated terraces.

Room categories span entry-level Ocean Suites to freestanding Pool Villas. The Ocean Suite is spacious by regional standards, but the Pool Villas — with their private infinity-edged pools directly above the ocean — represent the defining experience of the property. Several villa categories connect to create multi-room configurations suited to families or small groups.

Two restaurants operate on the estate. The main dining room produces contemporary interpretations of Sri Lankan cuisine alongside internationally influenced menus, sourcing seafood directly from local fishing communities and vegetables from the estate's kitchen garden. A beach bar at the cliff base is reached via a private funicular descent from the main terrace level.

The Cé La Vi spa occupies a dedicated pavilion on the upper terrace with Ayurveda treatments, Swedish massage, and combination wellness programmes. Water sports, spinner dolphin boat excursions, and guided visits to the Mulgirigala Rock Temple (20 km north) can be arranged through the activities desk. Service operates on a butler-to-villa model, ensuring a consistently personalised standard of attention.
