Madrid Nightlife Guide 2025
Discover the best bars, clubs, and evening entertainment in Madrid.
Madrid is Spain's vibrant capital and largest city, a metropolis of world-class art museums, grand boulevards, lively plazas, and an electric nightlife that never sleeps. As the Autonomous Community of Madrid, the region combines the cosmopolitan energy of the city with green sierra mountains, historic royal towns, and charming villages within easy reach.
Madrid's nightlife is legendary — the city genuinely does not sleep. Locals typically don't start their evening until 22:00–23:00, and major clubs don't fill until 02:00–03:00. Madrid has an extraordinary diversity of nightlife from intimate flamenco tablaos to rooftop cocktail bars, historic wine bars to cutting-edge electronic music clubs, jazz venues to LGBTQ+ mega-parties.
Nightlife Overview
Important Note
Spanish licensing laws are generally more relaxed than Northern Europe. Most clubs are open until 06:00 on weekends; Sala But and other mega-clubs sometimes operate until 07:00. Always have ID — controls at club doors are strict.

Nightlife Tips & Safety
Stay safe and make the most of your evenings.
Start your night at 22:00–23:00 with tapas and vermouth, then bar-hop until 01:00–02:00, then head to a club — this is the authentic Madrid night out
Buy club entry in advance online to save €3–€5 and guarantee entry on popular nights
Carry your passport or ID — face control at clubs can be strict and they will refuse entry without valid photo ID
Taxis are abundant after clubs close (06:00); Cabify and Uber also surge at these hours — have the app ready
The metro night service (Búho) on Friday and Saturday runs all night, saving taxi costs for earlier departures
Flamenco tablaos (Villa Rosa, Cardamomo) require advance booking — these authentic shows fill up weeks ahead in peak season
Bars in La Latina and Huertas typically do not enforce dress codes; Salamanca and Castellana clubs can be more selective
Safety Reminders
