Hotel Neri occupies a 12th-century palace on Plaça de Sant Felip Neri, one of Barcelona's most atmospheric medieval squares, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter. Barcelona Cathedral stands roughly 80 metres away, and the Roman ruins of ancient Barcino are visible at street level in the surrounding lanes. Las Ramblas is a seven-minute walk west; the El Born neighbourhood and the Picasso Museum are ten minutes east. The Gothic Quarter's densely packed network of Roman- and medieval-era streets makes the hotel an exceptional base for exploring the city's oldest districts on foot.

The building's origins date to the 12th century, with substantial modifications in the 18th century that introduced a Baroque courtyard and a carved stone façade. Architects Jordi Garces and Enric Soria directed the careful restoration that converted the palace into a 22-room hotel, which opened in 2005. Exposed limestone walls, Gothic stone arches, and original timber beams coexist throughout with contemporary designer furniture, custom textiles, and considered lighting.

The 22 rooms are classified as Classic, Superior, and Deluxe and are individually styled. All feature stone walls or exposed brick, high ceilings, and custom-designed beds; Deluxe rooms face Plaça de Sant Felip Neri directly. The Neri Restaurant on the ground floor serves modern Catalan cuisine in a stone-vaulted dining room and is regarded as one of the more accomplished hotel restaurants in the Old Town. A rooftop terrace bar opens in the warmer months and provides views over the Cathedral roofline — unusual to find at this close range.

Concierge service reflects the hotel's small scale: the team can curate individual itineraries, arrange private Gothic Quarter walking tours with specialist guides, and secure reservations at Barcelona's most in-demand restaurants. The property is primarily oriented toward couples and adult guests seeking a quiet, historically significant address in the city centre.
