El Garraf Natural Park: Camí de les Costes Circuit

The Camí de les Costes Circuit begins in Garraf village, reached via the Rodalies R2 Sud line from Barcelona Sants to Garraf station, about 30 minutes. The 10-kilometre circular route climbs roughly 300 metres through the Parc Natural del Garraf, an area characterised by low limestone hills and Mediterranean scrubland (garrigue) rather than forest, so shade is minimal for most of the hike. The surface is a mix of packed dirt tracks and rocky limestone underfoot, with generally gentle gradients apart from a couple of short, steeper climbs on the return leg. Notable landmarks include panoramic viewpoints over the Garraf coastline and the town of Sitges in the distance, the historic Garraf cemetery near the trailhead, and areas where wild goats are commonly spotted grazing the cliffside scrub. In spring, the route passes through fields of wildflowers characteristic of the park's karst terrain. There is no water source or shelter along the circuit itself; the nearest facilities are at Garraf train station. Because the terrain offers little shade and can be very exposed to sun, this circuit is best avoided during the hottest summer months and is more comfortable in cooler seasons.
