Poblet Monastery (UNESCO World Heritage)

The Reial Monestir de Santa Maria de Poblet sits in the Conca de Barberà comarca, 120km west of Barcelona, and is most practically reached by car via the AP-2 motorway to Espluga de Francolí in about 1.5 hours, followed by a short 4km drive to the monastery; public transport is slower, requiring an ALSA bus from Barcelona Nord to Espluga de Francolí (around 2.5 hours) followed by a 4km walk or local taxi, or a Renfe train via Tarragona to L'Espluga de Francolí station with a similar onward taxi trip, together taking over 2 hours each way.
