The Parador de Fuente Dé stands at the terminus of the Liébana valley road, approximately 90 km south of Santander and 25 km west of the market town of Potes. The hotel's defining feature is its position directly beside the Teleférico de Fuente Dé, a cable car that ascends 753 metres vertically into the Picos de Europa massif in under four minutes, depositing passengers at 1,823 metres on the Áliva plateau. The sheer limestone cirque that frames the valley head is visible from every room terrace, and the scale of the cliff walls rising immediately above the building makes the setting unlike any other parador in the network.
