Restaurante Aguamarina

  • CategoryMid Range
  • VibeSunny seafront terrace, relaxed resort atmosphere

A pleasant seafront restaurant in Playa Blanca with sea views, serving Spanish classics and fresh seafood. Close to the ferry port and Papagayo beaches.

Restaurante Aguamarina is a seafront restaurant on Avenida Papagayo in Playa Blanca, the southernmost resort town on Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. Playa Blanca has developed significantly over the past two decades into a more upscale resort destination than Lanzarote's other main tourist areas, and it serves as the departure point for the Corralejo (Fuerteventura) ferry as well as a base for visiting the Papagayo beaches — a series of small protected coves to the east that are among the finest in the archipelago. Aguamarina occupies a position close to both the ferry terminal and the start of the beach promenade, making it a practical stop both for day visitors and for residents of the resort's hotels and apartment complexes. The cooking covers Spanish seafood classics and accessible international dishes in about equal measure. Paella marinera — prepared with shellfish, mussels, and prawns in a saffron-tinted rice base — is the kitchen's most notable offering and is best ordered for two or more people. Grilled prawns and octopus appear as starters. The fish and chips listed on the menu nods to the significant British visitor base; it is prepared with fresh fish rather than frozen, which places it above the standard beach bar version. Sangria is popular and made in-house. The dining room is bright and the terrace faces the sea, catching afternoon sun and the breze off the Fuerteventura strait. Mains average €17. Open daily from 11:00. Reservations are recommended in the summer months.

Frequently asked questions

Is the restaurant suitable for visitors using the Fuerteventura ferry?

Yes. The Playa Blanca to Corralejo ferry terminal is close to Aguamarina. The restaurant works as a pre-ferry lunch stop or a post-crossing refreshment point.

Does the restaurant serve breakfast?

The restaurant opens at 11:00 for its main kitchen service. Coffee and pastries may be available from opening but it functions primarily as a lunch and dinner venue rather than a breakfast spot.

What are the Papagayo beaches?

Playa Papagayo is a series of protected coves east of Playa Blanca, accessible by car or foot through a natural park. The beaches are among Lanzarote's finest and are within 15–20 minutes of Aguamarina by car.

Is the paella freshly prepared or pre-made?

Aguamarina prepares the paella to order with a cooking time of approximately 20–25 minutes. It is not a pre-cooked batch version; the preparation time is an indicator of freshness.
