It is a Baroque building with a monumental carved facade, topped by Saint Sebastian, patron saint of the city. The interior combines Baroque and Churrigueresque altarpieces with later neoclassical touches. Because the building was constructed before the fire of 1813, it is one of the few major structures of the old town to survive the destruction, and it stands as an anchor of the rebuilt street plan. Today it is the parish church of the Parte Vieja and the setting for the Orfeon Donostiarra concert each 14 August. Visitors can enter free during open hours, but should not enter during services. The church sits at the foot of the path to Monte Urgull and a short walk from the Plaza de la Constitucion.
