Palacio de Cutre

Palacio de Cutre is a 17th-century stone palace converted into a small boutique hotel in the Piloña valley, roughly 40 kilometres east of Oviedo and 30 kilometres from the western boundary of the Picos de Europa. The property sits within a private finca surrounded by meadows and chestnut forests; its original stone towers, arched carriage entrance, and heraldic crests have been preserved, while the interior has been furnished with antiques, period textiles, and carefully chosen contemporary pieces to create a coherent historic atmosphere. The 11 rooms and suites each have individual character: exposed stone walls, timber beams, and en-suite bathrooms fitted with soaking tubs or walk-in showers. A seasonal outdoor pool occupies the walled garden, and a terrace overlooking the valley is used for summer breakfasts and evening drinks. The restaurant serves regional Asturian cooking using produce from local farms and the palace's own kitchen garden; the menu changes seasonally and can be adapted for dietary requirements. The bar holds a curated selection of Asturian ciders, regional wines from Bierzo and Galicia, and digestifs. Given the property's small scale, service is highly personal: the team arranges guided walks through the surrounding countryside, cycling routes along valley paths, and day trips to the Picos de Europa, the Covadonga sanctuary and lakes, and the coastal towns of eastern Asturias. Free parking is available within the estate. The hotel is adult-oriented and maintains a quiet atmosphere particularly suited to couples and independent travellers.
