The Jardín Botánico-Histórico La Concepción lies about 6 km north of central Málaga, in Spain's Andalusia region, in a valley off Camino del Jardín Botánico. It was created in the 1850s by the Marquis and Marchioness of Loring, who filled the estate with exotic plants brought back from their travels, and the garden is now managed by the city council. The grounds cover roughly 23 hectares and combine a historic garden, a botanical collection and a forested hillside.

Visitors follow marked routes among palm groves, a tropical forest, bamboo, waterfalls, ponds and one of the largest collections of subtropical plants in southern Spain. Landmarks include the Loring Museum, a neoclassical building from 1855 that was the family's summer residence, an Ionic-style gazebo (the Mirador), a Chinese-style pavilion, and an elegant avenue of wisteria that blooms in early spring. A viewpoint above the garden gives views down to the city and bay. A full visit takes two to three hours, with some paths steep and shaded. Photography is good on the historic walkway near the Loring Museum, at the waterfalls and in the palm grove. Spring brings the best flowering, with fewer visitors on weekday mornings and greater numbers at weekends and on free-entry Sunday afternoons. The garden opens Tuesday to Sunday with seasonal hours, roughly 09:30 to 20:30 in summer and 09:30 to 17:30 in winter, and is closed on Mondays. General admission is about €5.20, with €3.10 reduced, and confirmed hours and tickets are available at laconcepcion.malaga.eu. Visitors should bring water and wear comfortable shoes for the gravel and stone paths.
