City Lodge Hotel at OR Tambo International Airport

City Lodge Hotel at OR Tambo International Airport is a 303-room hotel in the airport precinct at Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa. The hotel is close to the terminals and is popular with travellers taking early flights or arriving late, since it offers an airport shuttle that avoids the need for a longer road transfer. Central Johannesburg and Sandton are roughly 25 to 30 kilometres away, reachable by the Gautrain from the airport station or by road. The property belongs to the City Lodge Hotel Group, which is known for consistent, straightforward service and moderate prices. The building is a large, practical airport hotel focused on comfort and convenience rather than design. Accommodation is offered as Standard Rooms and Family Rooms, with free Wi-Fi and free on-site parking, which is useful for guests who leave a car at the hotel or hire one at the airport. Amenities include an airport shuttle and a restaurant serving breakfast and other meals. Breakfast is an important service for guests leaving early, and the restaurant is open for other meals for arrivals later in the day. The hotel does not list a pool or spa, so it is best seen as an overnight stop rather than a leisure destination. Service is efficient and geared to transit guests, airline passengers and business travellers, and staff are used to arranging early wake-up calls and transfers. The property suits travellers with tight connections, families with early flights and business visitors to the airport area. Nightly rates run from roughly R1,500 to R2,200 depending on season and room type. Guests should confirm shuttle times when booking, particularly for very early or late flights, and should book ahead during holiday periods when airport hotels fill quickly.
