Ušće Park lies on the New Belgrade bank of the Sava, in Serbia's capital, at the point where the Sava flows into the Danube. The park tip, reached from Bulevar Mihajla Pupina, looks south-east across the water to the Kalemegdan Fortress on its ridge, with the river confluence spreading between the two. The Ušće Tower rises behind in the park's own skyline, adding a modern counterpoint to the old stone walls.

The park tip faces the fortress and the meeting of the two rivers, with the Ušće Tower behind.

This orientation makes the park an excellent place for evening photography: the sun sets behind the photographer in the west, lighting the fortress walls and the Pobednik hill in warm tones, while the water picks up pink and orange reflections. After sunset the fortress is illuminated and the blue hour produces symmetrical lights over the rivers, an ideal moment for tripod long exposures that smooth the current with an ND filter. April to October gives the most comfortable weather and the best sunset positions; autumn mist over the rivers can add atmosphere in the mornings. The park is large and open, so crowds disperse along the promenade, although evenings and weekends in summer bring joggers, cyclists and families, and concerts or events can close sections. The riverside edge is the preferred position, and a tripod can usually be set up on the paths without restriction if it does not block traffic. Entry to the park is free, and there are no known fees for personal photography. Drones are subject to Serbian regulation and the proximity to the fortress and the city centre makes permission essential. Cafes and kiosks along the promenade and the shopping complex nearby supply water and toilets.

Frequently asked questions

Where in Ušće Park is the best view?

The park tip at the confluence offers the clearest view of Kalemegdan Fortress across the water.

Why is Ušće good at sunset?

The sun sets behind the photographer, so it lights the fortress walls across the river while the sky and water pick up colour.

Is there a fee, and can tripods be used?

Park entry is free, and tripods are usually fine on the paths if they do not obstruct walkers.

Are drones allowed?

Drones are regulated near the city centre and the fortress, so registration and permission are needed.
